FAQ

Ordering and Delivery

How does delivery work?

Posibakes is open Monday - Friday from 9AM-5PM. Please note that any orders placed after 9AM on Friday will not be processed until the following Monday.

When you place an order, it will be baked especially for you within the next working week (usually the next day, depending on bakery wait times). Once your bakes have been made, they are shipped off the next morning, in order to let them fully cool and set overnight.

All bakes are posted with 24 hour tracked delivery via Royal Mail (UK-based).

This means that if you are in the UK, you should expect your order to arrive within one working week. If you are an international buyer, this may take a little longer - up to 2 working weeks.

If you would like your items to be posted later in the future (e.g. in preparation for a birthday), you can write us instructions in the checkout area.

How much is Delivery?

I bake your items fresh especially for you, so I send them on a 24 hour tracked service to get your cookies to you at their best.

UK delivery costs £5.50 for orders under 2 Kg and £7 for orders over 2 Kg.

Orders are sent with Royal Mail tracked 24 hour service, and you will receive emails and text updates (if you provide your email address and phone number ).

International delivery costs very- please see the shipping prices at checkout.

How can I add a gift message?

When you get to the checkout, there will be a box you can type into where you can type extra order instructions (e.g. to delay postage if you are buying in advance for someone's birthday), or add a gift message for me to put in your order.

Adding a gift message is completely free and there is no limit on the number of characters. All gift notes are written by hand by me on a small A7 card and included in the box alongside the packing slip (no prices are included on this slip, just item names and quantities)!

Do you ship/deliver internationally?

Yes!

I want my bakes to taste fresh and delicious, so international postage can be quite costly, due to the fact that I use express international shipping.

If you are able to check out on this website, I ship to your country. You can also see the total shipping cost to your country from the check- out page. Currently I ship throughout the UK, EU, USA and Canada.

Can I send items to someone in the UK if I live in another country?

Yes you can! However, you're gonna have to trick my system because otherwise it will charge you for international postage!

To do this, just make sure your country is set to UK on the website. You can use your real address when inputting payment info.

If you're having any issues with this, I can give you a hand via my email: sliceoflifeizzy@outlook.com

Can you deliver to Northern Ireland and offshore UK areas?

Yes! I can post anywhere which is a standard UK shipping address. However, there are some destinations where postage might take 2 days rather than 1.

How are your items packaged?

All orders are sent in recyclable, biodegradable cardboard boxes

I currently use plastic packing tape however I am looking for more sustainable options.

Inside the box, each item is packed separately in a sealed plastic bag (I am looking to switch to paper soon). Items are all packed in separate bags. The box is lined with a piece of greaseproof paper and each bag is sealed with a thank you sticker.

Each box contains an order summary with a list of the cookies you have ordered as well as care instructions and how to access ingredient/ allergen information.

If you have ordered a gift note, this will be hand written on a piece of brown card.

Ingredients

Do you sell gluten free options?

Sadly not yet, this is something I really want to develop in the future.

Do you sell dairy free options?

Sadly not yet, this is something I really want to develop in the future.

Are your items suitable for people with nut allergies?

I make all your goods in my kitchen at home, and although I have passed all the legal hygiene and food safety checks, there ARE nuts present in my kitchen.

You can find the ingredients for every item in their description. If nuts isn't in this list, the item does not have nuts IN THE RECIPE.

However, whilst every effort is made to sterilise the area in between batches, there may still be traces around. The goods are also baked in an oven where nuts have been baked. If you have a nut allergy, please weigh up the risks and benefits for you before you order my bakes.

Are your bakes vegetarian?

As long as you eat dairy and eggs, all of my bakes are vegetarian, except for bakes containing M&Ms. This means they don't use any meat or fish, however I MAY use vegetarian/ vegan meat alternatives (quorn etc).

Are your bakes Halal?

Yes, although due to the fact that I am a very small business, they have not been submitted for approval by the UK Halal Authority.

note - bakes containing M&Ms are NOT halal.

I am not super educated on halal foods, so please feel free to email me if you ever have any questions about any of my ingredients at sliceoflifeizzy@outlook.com

My bakes do not contain alcohol, gelatine or (generally) animal ingredients aside from butter, eggs and milk which I have checked are halal.

General Questions

How big are your bakes?

The physical size of the bakes is quite variable, since some are thin and large, and others are pretty THICK! However, all my individually portioned bakes are made to be around 120g. If it is ever different from this the weight will be given in the item description: For context, a single Sainsbury's Bakery cookie is around 40g.

How long do your bakes last?

Hopefully you'll enjoy them so much, you don't have to find out!

But seriously, every item is baked freshly especially for you, to give you the maximum time to enjoy your bakes fresh and beautiful.

I don't use any preservatives at all - partly because I don't understand science to that extent, and partly because.... I want to give you pure homemade goodness!

This means that the bakes are going to taste their best within around three days of arriving with you. However, there's nothing that is going to 'go off' in them within at least 2 weeks- they might just get a bit dry, so I'd recommend heating them up if you're after the three day mark.

You can also freeze them to save them for later :).

Can I freeze your bakes?

Absolutely!

Some bakes may freeze better than others (e.g. cookies topped with icing and caramel can slightly change consistency after being frozen).

You can freeze them for around 3 months, and let them defrost naturally in the fridge.

To get them back to that freshly baked taste, put them in the fridge to naturally defrost overnight and then bake for 5-7 minutes to re-invigorate them for items without icing!

For items with icing, you would need to separate the icing from the bake before freezing and store it separately, when you would like to defrost them, you can put the icing and the bake in the fridge overnight, re-bake the baked good and then top with the icing again for best results! 💜

Do you have nutritional information or calorie info?

No.

As you might know, in the past I have struggled with an eating disorder, and a big part of that was counting calories.

I don't believe in counting calories, in any situation (let alone when eating extra special delicious baked goods!)

If you need to know any nutritional details for medical reasons, feel free to email me (sliceoflifeizzy@outlook.com).

Please remember, no foods are good or bad. No foods will harm you, and calories aren't the be-all and end-all. You deserve to enjoy your food guilt-free, without labelling them with numbers and nutritional facts.

You can find the ingredients for each item in the description.

Can I bulk order bakes?

Yes! Feel free to email me at sliceoflifeizzy@outlook.com and we can sort your order out :).
